Singapore Biennale 2006
State of Being : Artistic
Time really files... Always thought there were still lots of time to catch the Singapore Biennale 2006 displays, hence the procrastination in visiting the various venues. Alas, only managed to rush down to catch a glimpse of the displays at City Hall & Tanglin Camp on the last day itself when it finally dawned upon me that the exhibitions were coming to an end. IMHO, it was certainly worth making the trip! The displays were thought provoking and cover diverse themes such as the humanity of mankind, creation of life, upholding of justice, racial & religious harmony. Some artwork that caught my attention were Jane Alexander's "Verity, Faith and Justice", Donna Ong's "Secret, Interiors : Chrysalis" & Sheba Chhachhi's "Winged Pilgrims: A Chronicle from Asia" (@ City Hall) and Brian Gothong Tan's "We Live in a Dangerous World" (@ Tanglin Camp)
