SITEX 2008
State of Being : Recession??
You probably have read about the impending recession and the lower or even negative growth rate forecasted for Singapore next year. But judging by the huge crowd turnout and the long queues at the SITEX 2008, you wouldn't have guessed that Singaporeans are affected at all by the current economy.
In fact, on the contrary, the exhibition halls at Singapore Expo where SITEX 2008 was held was extremely crowded today. Many times, I had to strategically edged my way to the front of the booth counters so that I could get a closer look and feel the digital cameras that I was interested in. Even after I had found THE ONE, I never expect having to queue for around 75 min for payment and another 30-40 min to get the goods!!! *faint*
I sure hope the organisers for next year SITEX 2009 will improve in this area as it is really ridiculous that consumers have to queue for so long in order to "give money" to the sellers...
