From the zany diva who brought us timeless classics in the 80's such as "Girls Just Want To Have Fun", "She Bop", "Time After Time" and "True Colors", American pop icon Cyndi Lauper is back stronger with an album of all new material since 2001. Released in May 2008, Cyndi collaborated with a number of notable dance artists such as Basement Jaxx, Digital Dog, Dragonette, Kleerup and Axwell for her tenth studio album "Bring Ya To The Brink".
Compared to her last album, featuring acoustic reinterpretations of tracks from her back catalog, we can see that the collaboration has indeed paid off as the album has already spawned two #1 singles on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart to-date.
Of the two singles "Same Ol' Story" & "Into The Nightlife", I personally like the latter second single more. With edgier lyrics and a more electronic beat, the remixed version by Soul Seekerz sparkled more than Jody Den Broeder's mix. Check it out for yourself now!
