The Day After 2morrow (if there is one...)

State of Being : Shuddered to think what if...

Just watched the TV premier of the 2004 apocalyptic science-fiction film "The Day After Tomorrow", which depicts the catastrophic effects of global warming.

In the movie, global warming causes large areas of the Arctic ice shelf to break off and melt, thereby disrupting the Gulf Stream causing an unnatural cooling of the northern hemisphere. This then triggers a series of anomalies in the Earth's climate, eventually leading up to a massive "global superstorm" system consisting of three gigantic hurricane-like superstorms, which result in an ice age for the northern hemisphere within days.

Coming back to reality, I cannot help but shuddered at the thought that if such a day were to come, where could we hide??? Afterall, SIN is so small and there ain't many high grounds to escape the rising seawater.

In fact, the effects of global warming is certaingly alarming. In SIN alone, the continuous downpour for the past few weeks is testament enough that the weather is indeed changing. And the catastrophic effects of such changes is clearly evident in the flood situation in JB. Hopefully, there is still time to save the planet...
