"Play with Me" - N80

State of Being : Lazy

The N80 has been launched for almost 2-3 weeks now. Was so tempted to get it then but with the 2 yr plan the price was still $938. Over the next 2 weeks, was looking forward to the M1 ad every weekend hoping that the price would drop but alas by only $100. Compared to Singnet and Starhub, the N80 has already dropped to $738. M1 is so "Duh".

Anw, offered to "sell" my service to upgrade my plan for a nominal "fee" to interested buyers and at the same time to purchase the N80 off the web. My efforts paid off and I ended up saving $130 compared to purchasing it from M1! Finally, a new toy to play with over the weekend.... Yeah!

M:i:III

State of Being : Relaxed

Watched M:i:III on Vesak Day.

IMHO, it was way better than the 2nd installment, which I felt was overly reminiscent of John Woo's Hong Kong triad movies (imagine Chow Yun-Fat clasping and firing 2 guns at enemies) The storyline for this 3rd installment was again extremely exaggerated always. Ethan Hunt dodging all the firing from the enemies? IMF team members with Ethan Hunt relegated to mere vases?

Oh well, with all Tom Cruise's movies, one should come to expect that all plots and sub-plots, including the action sequence (in this case) will revolve around only one person and that is without any doubt Tom alone...

Next on the must watch movie list - "X-men: The Last Stand" & "The Da Vinci Code"!!

Final verdict:
Plot - ***, Effects - *** 1/2, Substance - ***

The Results

State of Being : Happy

The voters have decided and the dust have finally settled. Must have been an extremely stressful day for the parties and the nominees. Bet the whole of Singapore was glued to the television sets for the live telecast of the results which started from 10pm onwards.

Thankful that the results showed that there were still alternative voices in the House. Overall a strong fight by the Opposition and the statistics (strong mandate?) clearly showed that the lure of the 'carrot' is not as effective as one party thought it would be.
Afterall, today's voters are sophisticated enough not to be easily swayed by monetary gains, thereby diminishing one party's hope of "buying voters over"!
